Chip Kelly gets it - he'll be at Wing Bowl

Chip Kelly gets it.

A couple of weeks ago, when he was introduced as the new coach of the Philadelphia Eagles, Kelly quipped that he knew that while the Super Bowl was No. 1 in the hearts of Philly fans, right there at No. 2 was our peculiar preview to the big game. That, of course, would be Wing Bowl.

This morning Kelly will make good on his claim by putting in an appearance at the chicken wing-eating extravaganza at the Wells Fargo Center.

So who needs Ray Lewis and Colin Kaepernick in the Big East.

We've got lots of fat guys, scantily clad Wingettes along with a healthy dose of strippers, and even Chip Kelly.

So far the Birds' new boss has done and said all the right things. His boss, Eagles owner Jeff Lurie, didn't make anyone happy yesterday when he announced that he was raising ticket prices after the team struggled to a woeful 4-12 record.

Kelly has a lot of work to do.

I guess this morning you could call his mission a "wing & a prayer."

Kelly's been to Wing Bowl. Not it's time to deliver on the other half of that equation, the Super Bowl.
