Colangelo era over; he blames his wife

The Bryan Colangelo Era with the Sixers is over.

There is no word as yet on his marriage.

The Sixers and Colangelo yesterday announced that they had parted company, two weeks after a damning report on the website The Ringer that linked Colangelo to several burner Twitter accounts that contained very critical posts on several key Sixers players, divulged medical information on some 76ers, and showed support for Colangelo.

The team indicated Colangelo had been "careless" and "reckless" with sensitive information.

Colangelo issued a statement of his own, denying that he had any knowledge of the Twitter accounts and did not post anything. This is when things got weird.

Colangelo decided to throw his wife under the bus.

The head man who was running personnel for the team basically dumped the whole mess in his wife's lap. Colangelo said Barbara Bottini's actions "were a seriously misguided effort to publicly defend and support me. She acted independently and without my knowledge or consent."

He wasn't done.

He then dropped this on his wife, words that every reporter has heard at one time or another. He said the content posted by his wife was "filled with inaccuracies and conjecture, which in no way represent my own views or opinions."

The team said Colangelo failed to safeguard "sensitive" material.

To say nothing of blaming his wife.
