The Vick Question

There is one problem remaining with the Philadelphia Eagles’ quarterback situation.

I don’t believe it has anything to do with Kevin Kolb. I think he will be fine.

It has everything to do with the shadow standing behind him. Its name is Michael Vick.

I get the feeling Vick is a problem waiting to happen. He was the good soldier last year. He really didn’t have much choice. He was grateful to get back in the league and have a job after doing two years for financing a dog-fighting operation.

But Vick now has made it clear he wants the opportunity to start. He’s not going to get that here.

But what happens if Kolb struggles to start the season. Or if the team sputters on offense.

Look for the fans to start chanting for Vick. And look for Vick to do nothing to dampen those feelings.

The Eagles would be wise to continue looking for a trade for Vick. A draft-day deal that brought them another pick in exchange for Vick might just work out for everyone.
