Another bad month at Harrah's

 


Table games probably can’t get here fast enough for the folks down at Harrah’s.


It was another rough month for the Chester slots parlor in May. Figures released yesterday from the state Gaming Control Board showed revenue for Harrah’s was off a whopping 12 percent in May.

Harrah’s had company. Play at the Meadows Racetrack and Casino was off

24 percent. Same tune at Mount Airy Casino Resort, which took an 18 percent hit.


Of the nine casinos in the state, play was down at five of them.


At the other end of the spectrum was the new Parx Casino at Philly Park, where play was up 13 percent.


Overall revenue at all casinos was up 16 percent.

Table games are expected to hit Pa. slots parlors around July 4. They’ve already been beaten to the punch by Delaware. Table games were unveiled at the Harrington racetrack in South Delaware last week.
