The Flyers are in need of a good luck charm. Maybe they found one yesterday.
The team held a pep rally downtown last night to get the fans stoked up as they look to break into the win column after two straight losses in Chicago.
Guess who stole the show? No, not Lauren Hart and her duet with longtime Flyers’ karma queen Kate Smith. They likely will save that one for tonight.
Leading the Flyers’ cheers yesterday was none other than wounded Upper Darby police Officer Ray Blohm.
Last week Blohm gave a press conference where he talked about the street confrontation that left him with four bullet wounds. His bulletproof vest likely saved his life.
Blohm, a die-hard Flyers fan, was wearing a bright orange Flyers Eastern Conference Champions T-shirt, which he had to lift up to display the gruesome pockmarks on his back.
Apparently the Flyers noticed.
Yesterday they invited Blohm to the pep rally and pronounced him a hometown hero.
Then again, the people in Upper Darby already knew that.
