Right where they want them

Here’s the optimistic view, Flyers fans.

The Comeback Kids now have the Blackhawks right where they want them.

This orange and black group hasn’t done anything easy so far this year.
It does not appear as if the Stanley Cup Finals will be any different.

After a wild, 6-5 shootout loss on Saturday night, both teams settled down and played a much more disciplined style of play Monday night.

Despite a furious third-period rally, they could not get the equalizer past Antti Niemi and fell, 2-1. Now they’re down 2-0 in the series, which shifts to the Wachovia Center for games Wednesday and Friday nights.

Perfect.

Remember, this is the same team that only got into the playoffs by the skin of their teeth, winning a shootout on the final day of the regular season against the Rangers.

The Flyers then dispatched the Devils and Canadiens. That was small potatoes in terms of what they faced in the Eastern Conference Finals against the Bruins.

The Flyers found themselves buried in a 3-0 hole, staring over the edge of the abyss. And even that wasn’t enough. In Game 7 they decided to get down 3-0 in the first period before rallying to beat Boston.

Down 2-0? That’s nothing for this crew. They have the Blackhawks right where they want them.
