You have to wonder exactly what Christine Rogers was thinking of Monday.
Rogers is a veteran bus driver for the Wallingford-Swarthmore School District. Or at least she was. She was terminated shortly after she was charged with driving under the influence.
While driving a school district bus.
With a student on board.
You can read Rose Quinn’s account here.
Police say a motorist alerted them to Rogers’ erratic driving on the Blue Route.
Police caught up with her in Swarthmore. But not before she allegedly knocked down a stop sign and did damage to some shrubs.
Thankfully, that appears to be the extent of the damage. No injuries were reported. The student on the bus was not hurt.
Rogers was taken to Crozer Chester Medical Center for a psychiatric evaluation.
In the meantime, she likely will not be getting back behind the wheel of a school bus anytime soon.
Good thing.
