A grisly discovery in Camden

This is what everyone had feared, what everyone had hoped would not happen.

The family and friends of Jenna Lord hit the streets of Camden Sunday, searching for their loved one, who had last been seen at a Camden train station on July 5.

After a couple of hours, their worst fears were realized. A body was found in a weed-strewn lot at Fifth and Division. While an official identification has not yet been made by the Camden County prosecutor’s office, family members confirmed it was the 23-year-old mother.

The distinctive Mickey Mouse tattoo on her arm told them it was Jenna.

An autopsy will be done today to confirm the ID and also to determine a cause of death.

Family members tried to comfort one another last night.

Part of their anguish undoubtedly is the knowledge that officials believe Jenna had been lying in those high weeds for some time.

There are still lots of questions about what happened to Jenna Lord after she left a holiday barbecue in Collingdale, then went to spend the night with her grandmother in Collingswood, N.J.

That and a lot of heartache for her family and friends.
