Name change? Bank on it

Why don’t they just call it the Quick Change Center?

Or shorten it to The Bank. No, that might get it confused with Citizens Bank Park.

Attention sports fans. One your South Philly sports palaces is changing its name.

Again. Actually, for the fourth time.

The Wachovia Center will now be called the Wells Fargo Center.

This is not a recording. The place first known as the CoreStates Center when it opened in 1996, only to give way to the First Union Center, which morphed into the Wachovia Center, will now be called the Wells Fargo Center.

Don’t ask for how long.

With the price of the seats inside, they might honor the fans by calling it the Bank-rupt Center.

I supposed calling it the No Championship Center has been ruled out.
