Life is cheap

Abdul Johnson was sentenced Thursday for his role in a Chester street altercation in which their mission to avenge another shooting ended in the death of Kathy Ann Stewart.

One of the shots fired by Johnson and co-defendant Dominique Smith went through the wall of a home and struck Stewart in the head as she chatted innocently on her cell phone. Stewart had been in the city as part of her daily ritual, checking in on her ailing mother.

The bullet struck her in the head, killing her.

Johnson yesterday was sentenced to seven to 14 years in jail after pleading guilty to charges on involuntary manslaughter and conspiracy to commit aggravated assault.

Life comes pretty cheap these days.
