It’s Football Friday.
That’s right. The high school football season kicks off with a vengeance tonight.
You can pick up the print version of the paper today for our 2010 Football Guide, with previews on every high school team in Delco. On our website, you can see videos of many of the teams as well.
Speaking of online, we’re taking our new “digital first” mantra and putting it to the test when it comes to delivering high school football scores to you.
Check back to the website tonight and you’ll be able to view live updates from all the Delco games we’re covering. Our writers will be feeding updates to the site via Twitter. And we also would like you to get in on the action. We’re putting out a call for students, parents, boosters, band members and anyone else who might be interested to join our Twitter army covering high school football. If you’d like to get in on the action, send an e-mail to sports editor Rob Parent at delcotimessports@gmail.com.
Next week we will commence our plans for a weekly Game of the Week, including a live video stream from a local game.
And for all you Strath Haven fans, we once again this year are partnering with havenfootball.net, linking to their site for the live Internet broadcast of the Haven games. Come back to the site tonight for a link to the contest with Lower Moreland.
We know Delco is passionate about high school sports. And we’re passionate about our coverage. That’s why they call us Delaware County’s Sports Authority.
Now you have a chance to get in on the passion.
Buckle your seatbelts. It’s going to be a wild year.
