Phils filet the Fish

2-1-1-3-2-0.

That’s not a hip new zip code.

That’s the tattoo the Phillies laid on the Florida Marlins last night.

You knew, eventually, the Phils slumbering bats were going to awaken. And when they did, someone was going to pay.

Meet Andy Miller. The Marlins’ starter got torched by the Phils, giving up 7 runs on 11 hits over 4 innings, including another opposite field home run from Ryan Howard.

Speaking of snapping out of a slumber, Howard posted 6 RBIs on the night.

And the Phils got another gem from starter Cole Hamels, who shut out the Fish over 7 innings. Sure, things got a little interesting at that point, with the Marlins putting up a 6-spot against Phils call-up reliever Nate Robertson.

So why the frowns this morning on the faces of so many Phillies fans.

Jimmy Rollins is hobbling again. He left last night’s game after tweaking a hamstring while motoring into second with a double in the third inning. He left the game shortly after. Rollins has missed a boatload of games already this season with various leg ailments. This is just the latest.

On top of that, the move of Rollins out of the leadoff spot to No. 5, behind Ryan Howard, with Shane Victorino moving to the top of the lineup, seemed to have sparked the Phils offense.

Stay tuned. For now the Phils remain a half-game up on the Braves. That could evaporate today. The Braves play the Pirates again, while the Phils have the day off before a weekend series in the Big Apple against the Mets.

It’s a spot Rollins loves to play, with his love-hate relationship with the Gotham fans.

Let’s just hope he’s in the lineup.
