I was reminded once again yesterday of the similarities between firefighters and journalists.
We were the ones rushing desperately toward Armageddon yesterday when explosions and fire rocked a Collingdale company. It’s a bit of a miracle that there were only three injuries.
Hundreds of people were evacuated from their homes for hours.
Today might be a good time to thank your local emergency responders – almost all of whom are volunteers – for their superior service yesterday.
The situation could have been much worse. A huge area could have gone “kaboom” had they not quickly controlled the fire and then kept it from spreading.
In short, they saved a community.
We tried to save their efforts for posterity. You can check it out here.
