This is the one Eagles fans have had circled on their calendars since the schedule came out.
Donovan McNabb Sunday makes his much-ballyhooed return to Lincoln Financial Field since being traded to the Redskins in the off-season.
It no doubt will be just as strange for McNabb to walk out of that opposing team's locker room as it will for fans to see that comfortable No. 5 wearing maroon and gold.
This was supposed to be all about McNabb the mentor vs his successor, Kevin Kolb. Of course, that's not exactly how it worked out.
Now it's McNabb vs the savior, Michael Vick. Eagles fans still conflicted about their new starting quarterback will no doubt greet their old pal in resounding Philly fashion.
I hope that McNabb gets a standing ovation in South Philly. He deserves it. His legacy remains intact as very likely the greatest QB in Eagles history. But once the game starts, I think we will be reminded of why McNabb's time here was so frustrating.
I don't think he gets a win.
Right now Vick is playing at a level no one could have expected. He is beating teams with both his arm and his rejuvenated legs.
I think he makes just enough big plays to cash in another win for the Eagles.
As far as the Redskins are concerned, they suddenly are dealing with an outbreak of familiar problems, not converting on third down, struggling when they get into the end zone. We've seen it here many times.
The McNabb Era is over, but it is not forgotten.
Make it Eagles 19, Redskins 16. In a defensive struggle, Vick outshines McNabb.
Last Week: I was on the money again as Vick made his debut as the Birds' new starter a winnre.
Season Record: I remain a perfect 3-0 so far, still one game game better than the Birds, who sit at 2-1.
