I think we can pretty much eliminate Cynthia Roberts from the Mother of the Year competition – at least if the charges filed against her hold up.
Roberts is an Upper Darby woman who police say got involved with a beef with a Comcast tech when he arrived at her home on Timberlake Road to shut off her cable TV.
Roberts apparently was not thrilled at the aspect and got involved in a physical altercation with the cable guy, according to the affidavit filed for her arrest.
But Roberts was just getting warmed up.
When police arrived at the home to investigate, Roberts allegedly locked herself in the bathroom and refused to come out. Officers told her they would use a Taser on her if she didn’t calm down.
That’s when Roberts added a final touch.
Upper Darby top cop says Roberts grabbed her 11-year-old daughter and used her as a shield to thwart the cops’ plan.
She was eventually taken into custody, and her daughter was turned over to Children and Youth Services.
Nice.
