Pardon me, Roy, but that was not the Chattanooga Choo-Choo you saw out there Wednesday night.
No, Mr. Oswalt, that was your teammate, Roy Halladay, performing a little magic and making history with only the second no-hitter in post-season play in Major League Baseball history.
Or Histo-Roy, as it were.
Now the stage is yours. A daunting task, no doubt.
All except for one thing. Oswalt is very good at Citizens Bank Park. How good? Like 9-0 good.
Plus, Oswalt has probably been even better than that other Roy since coming to the Phils at the trade deadline. All Oswalt has done is go 7-0 with a 1.31 ERA since he got roughed up in his Phils’ debut.
Oswalt has playoff experience from his years with the Astros, so he’s not likely to shrink in the spotlight.
But he will likely need help from the Phils still sleepy bats.
It says here that Oswalt sparkles. Will he throw another no-hitter? Not likely.
But I think he comes pretty close.
One thing is certain: After tonight, he will no longer be the “other” Roy.
