It’s not just booze where Pennsylvania trails Delaware.
The First State is also beating Pa. to the punch in dealing with the use of hand-held devices while driving.
The new year rings in a new law in Delaware that imposes stiff fines on those with one hand on the wheel and another on their cell phone.
If you’re caught driving in Delaware with a hand-held device, you could be looking at a $50 fine for the first offense. Same goes for texting, using a pager, Blackberry, iPad or anything else that requires hands-on use.
A repeat offense can bring a fine up to $200.
That makes Delaware one of 30 states that now bans use of hand-held devices while driving.
Not on that list, of course, is Pennsylvania.
What are we waiting on?
