Join us for 'Live from the Newsroom'

Brace yourself for something completely different when it comes to covering the news in Delaware County.

We’re calling it ‘Live From the Newsroom,’ and it will debut Wednesday night at 7 o’clock right here on Delcotimes.com.

We’re planning to bring some of the leading news makers in the county into your living room via the wonders of the internet in a live-stream, half-hour Internet broadcast.

You can tune in simply by pointing your Internet browser to delcotimes.com. For Wednesday night’s debut we will be tackling one of the biggest issues in the county, the plan to develop the old Franklin Mint site along Baltimore Pike into a “walkable community” complete with more than 1,200 residential units, retail shops, office space and a hotel, all withing walking distance of the SEPTA commuter rail tracks.

It’s one of the hottest issues in the county.

Joining me will be our lead local columnist Gil Spencer, as well as Dr.
John Laskas, a Middletown activist and one of the founders of the Save Middletown group that is vehemently opposing the development.
Unfortunately, our offer for a representative from the development team to join us has been declined.

But we’re not going to let that stop us. And we don’t want it to stop you either. We don’t want you to just watch, we want you to take part.
Have a question about this development you’d like answered? Let us know.
Post a comment on this story. Or send me an e-mail at editor@delcotimes.com. Those viewing the live stream also will be able to log in and ask questions through our live chats device on the web site.

Every week we will try to bring in another leading figure from the county to talk about a pressing issue. We hope you make it part of your Wednesday night routine.

Join us Wednesday night for a new era in covering Delco news for the Daily Times and delcotimes.com.

See you on the Internet!
