Mother Nature is not a baseball fan

I’m never been much of an April Fools kind of guy.

So, no, I don’t especially appreciate Mother Nature’s sense of humor.

Yes, those are snowflakes – big, fat, wet ones – that were falling out there this morning.

Hey, it could be worse. They’re going to get as much as a foot of snow in some parts of New England.

They’re already having problems this morning with slushy, icy conditions on the roads out in Chester County.

But even Mother Nature can’t chill the hearts of baseball fans today.

That’s because it is Opening Day.

And not just any Opening Day, but one of the most anticipated Phillies seasons in history.

That’s what happens when you go out and stun the baseball world by re-signing Cliff Lee. He joins Cy Young winner Roy Halladay, Cole Hamels, Roy Oswalt, and yes Joe Blanton, in one of the most formidable starting rotations in Phillies history.

We at delcotimes.com will be pulling out all the stops to cover opening day.

We will have a live blog featuring our writers down at Citizens Bank Park. CLICK HERE to take part in the conversation.

Beat writer Ryan Lawrence also will be giving live updates on Twitter during the game.

We’ll be talking to fans bundled against the cold down at the stadium as well.

And if you don’t have a ticket and can’t make the game, why not stop by Jimmy Mac’s in Drexel Hill for our live-stream Internet Fancast for opening day. I’ll be there along with Bob Grotz as we talk Phillies and interact with the fans.

Make sure you’re coming back to delcotimes.com all day for the best live Phillies coverage in the region.
