It should not go unnoticed that yesterday was a solemn day for Phillies fans.
It was two years ago that we lost the voice of summer – and the voice of the Phillies. Harry Kalas died.
Making the day even more poignant was the fact that the Phils were in Washington, where Harry suffered his massive heart attack.
Doesn’t seem like two years ago. If you’re like me, you still hear Harry’s voice every time you listen to a Phillies game. Think Harry and his sidekick, our old pal Richie Ashburn, would enjoy watching Roy Halladay employ his craft?
Summer is coming, but there will always be something missing. That soothing voice will not be there.
It will be missed.
Hard to believe, Harry.
