Remote control mania

Better check the batteries on the old remote control. And do lots exercise to build up the muscles in your thumb and other Carpal Tunnel-affected digits that work the dial selector.

They likely all will get quite the workout tonight. As will newspaper editors with tight deadlines.

Philly fans will be frantically switching between three different live sporting events tonight, all of which start at 7 p.m.

The Phillies will open a series against the Brewers at Citizens Bank Park at 7:05. That one is on the Comcast Network. I guess the 45,000 people in the latest sellout at will be among the few not giving their remote control a serious workout.

The Flyers play Game 3 of their opening Stanley Cup playoff series against the Sabres in Buffalo at 7. That one is on Comcast Sports Network.

And the Sixers play Game 2 of their opening round of the NBA Playoffs at
7 on TNT.

I can seen the smoke curling out of remote controls all across the Delaware Valley.

It will match that steaming out of the ears of newspaper editors trying frantically to get all three games into print editions for the next morning.
