Table games are where it's at

Now that Pennsylvania is firmly entrenched in the world of legalized gambling, one thing is becoming increasingly clear to me.

Slots are not where the action is.

Table games are what’s hot.

Don’t believe me? Ask the folks down at Harrah’s. Their revenue numbers for slots machines have been on the decline now for more than a year.

In June their slots haul was off 9 percent from the year before.

They’re not complaining. That’s because in the year since they have been in existence, table games increasingly where the action is.

And that is particularly true for young people. While slots have seemingly forever been the domain of retired folks and day trippers, the young, hip crowed is flocking to table games.

That word come from the state Gaming Control Board, while qualifying that by saying that table games are enjoyed by a wide range of players.

What I really would like is to delve a bit more into the world of casino gambling.

If you have something to say about it, reach out to me and let me know.
Are you a regular at the tables at Harrah’s? We’d like to talk to you.
We’re going to do a story for next weekend. You don’t have to be named if you don’t want to, but tell us your gambling stories.

Email me at editor@delcotimes.com if you’d like to take part in the story.
