I wouldn't say Sean O'Neill Sr.'s plea fell on deaf ears.
But a judge gave his appeal pretty short shrift in denying his bid to withdraw his plea on tax fraud and immigration charges.
O'Neill claimed he did not know he was going to be deported to Northern Ireland as part of the deal and could not return to the U.S.
He now as 60 days to appeal.
And the saga of one of the county's most star-crossed families continues.
