Live From Newsroom goes Back to School

The Heron’s Nest is going back to school.

Actually, it’s ‘Live From the Newsroom,’ which airs tonight from beautiful downtown Primos and will focus on the upcoming school year.

Joining us will be Upper Darby Schools Superintendent Lou DeVlieger. He will offer a glimpse at the school year – especially since Upper Darby kids will the first in the county to head back to school.

That’s right, the days of summer are quickly coming to an end in Upper Darby. Classes start this coming Monday.

For a sneak peek at what DeVlieger sees ahead for Upper Darby, click here for his annual welcoming address for district employees.

I am also very excited by our two other guests who will join us on the panel.

You will get a chance to meet Cardinal O’Hara senior Nicole McAlee. Nicole has volunteered to be part of a grand blogging experiment for us here at DelcoTimes.com. She will write and compile a blog that we are calling “The Senior Year Diaries.” You can check it out here.

Basically, I envision it as a chronicle of a typical Delaware County student’s senior year.

Or, as Nicole puts it, “the good, the bad, and the hilarious – with text, pictures and video.”

I can’t wait to read it.

Of course no one would consider going Back to School without doing some serious shopping first.

We’ll be joined by another one of our bloggers, Kelly Moran, who writes the Delcodealdiva blog. She’ll be offering tips on where parents and students can get the most bang for your bucks.Check out her blog here.

If you have a question you’d like us to put to DeVlieger or one of our panelists, email me at editor@delcotimes.com. Make sure you log on to DelcoTimes.com tonight at 7 and join our live chat.
