Summer is over. Labor Day has come and gone. I wrote about it in my print column, which you can read here.


Kids are heading back to school, and that can mean only one thing.


Teacher contract disputes.


The biggest standoff in the county involves the archdiocese and its high school teachers.


That would affect kids going to Cardinal O’Hara, Archbishop Preendergast, Monsignor Bonner and Archbishop Carroll.


This time it’s not about money; it’s about teaching rules.

The archdiocese says schools will open Wednesday – with the teachers or without them. A day-long negotiating session on Monday failed to make much progress.
