The Heron's Nest: The Dreaded Saturday Eagles pick

No need to fret, Jason Avant.

What you don't understand is that for real Eagles fans, there is no such thing as a bandwagon. We don't get on and get off. We live and die with this team every week.

That's why we were flying high last week as the Eagles continued their Lazarus act by unloading on the Dallas Cowboys in prime time, completely dominating a fairly good team.

Now it's time for the encore, with still another national TV audience tuning in for a Monday night matchup vs. the Bears at the Linc.

Andy Reid seems to have discovered the running game, and now realizes he just might have the best running back in the NFL at his disposal with LeSean McCoy. The Pitt product lugged it 30 times for 185 yards in leaving spike marks all over that vaunted Dalllas defense.

This matchup will feature two of the best backs in the league, McCoy vs. the Bears' Matt Forte.

It says here the Eagles use the same formula for a big win. They get an early lead, forcing the Bears to put the game in the hands of QB Jay Cutler, not Forte, then turn that Eagles pass rush loose on him.

Look for another big night for McCoy, along with another solid effort from Michael Vick in directing this thunderous Eagles attack.

Make it Eagles 31, Bears 17.

Last Week: Eagles looked every bit the dream team in dismantling a decent Cowboys team. They get another shot at prime time on Monday night.

Season Record: I've now hit two in a row, turning things around just as the Eagles have. Still, 2-5 is nothing to brag about. As for the Birds, they're a win away from being .500, sitting at 3-4. But a win against the Bears coupled with a Giants' loss vs. the Patriots would leave them just one game back. Nice of the Dolphins to fold up vs. the Giants last week.
