Dan Connor headed for Eagles?

Could there be a homecoming in the works for one of the greatest football players ever to come out of Delaware County?

Reports continue to circulate on the Internet that the Eagles are about to sign linebacker Dan Connor, the All-Delco great out of Strath Haven High.

Connor had a standout career at Penn State, but has had trouble getting on the field in four seasons with Carolina.

The Eagles certainly need help at linebacker, but if Connor is their answer, the guess here is that most fans are going to be disappointed.

The Eagles desperately need a stud linebacker, preferably one who can play in the middle. Connor’s size – he’s 6-2 and weighs 230 pounds – makes it very tough for to play in the middle in the NFL.

Last year he played in 15 games – sitting out Week 11 with a shoulder injury – and recorded 54 tackles. He has 1 sack in his four-year NFL career.
