A new low for Chester Upland

The Chester Upland School District has a lot of problems.

The occasional fight is one of them. That happens at almost every school district.

But what happened yesterday at Chester High School does not.

In fact, I can’t recall it ever happening. Anywhere.

What happened was a full-blown brawl between the president of the Chester Upland School Board and a high school teacher.

The two women exchanged words – and then fists – right in front of students.

You can read about the entire ugly scenario here.

Wanda Mann is blaming it all on teacher Leslye Jordan, who in turn says Mann started the whole thing.

This apparently was not just an exchange of heated words or a shove. That was only the start. This was an all-out fight. Both women wound up being treated at a local hospital.

So far no charges have been filed. Police are investigating.

Chester Upland has plenty of problems. This is one it could have done without.

Shame on both these women for letting their disagreement get this far out of control.
