The Joe Banner Era is over.
Unfortunately for Philly sports fans, so is the era when anybody feared the Phillies.
That comes from no less an authority the skipper Charlie Manuel, who had seen enough as his Phumbling Phils lost their sixth straight game yesterday at was once the imposing Citizens Bank Park. The Dodgers swept the Phils in South Philly, the first time that's happened in about 65 years.
Manuel had seen and heard enough. After the game he offered his thoughts on the team.
He could not have been more plain.
The Phillies don't scare anyone anymore. Except maybe their fans, who continue to flock to a sold-out Citizens Bank Park.
