Live From the Newsroom tackles men's issues in Chester

In honor of Father’s Day, our live-stream Internet broadcast, ‘Live From the Newsroom,’ will focus on a couple of groups pushing issues that are crucial to men and fathers in the city of Chester.

We’ll be joined tonight by representatives of the community group Brothers of Concern. They are the driving force behind a new literacy program called “Real Men Really Read.” They are working with the Delaware County Literacy Council and others to get books into the hands of men, in particular young men who have already found themselves on the wrong end of the law.

The Daily Times and DelcoTimes.com has been proud to partner with the group on this effort. If anybody has a vested interest in reading, it’s us. We’re all about reading. And yes, there is a clear need in the city.

We’ll also be joined by entrepreneur Ulysses “Butch” Slaughter. He’s developed a members-only network for effective fathers throughout the Philadelphia region. His network is called 'The Odyssey Project' and he will be doing a program on effective fatherhood with other fathers in the Chester area. He'll be offering his thoughts with men as part of a special program on Friday with the Chester Housing Authority and will offer a glimpse at what's involved.

We’ll get his take on this issue and what it might mean to the city.

If you have a question you’d like me to ask our panel, email it to me at editor@delcotimes.com.

You also can log in to DelcoTimes.com tonight at 7 and take part in our live chat in conjunction with the show.

We’re all about Chester and the role of men in the city.

Happy Early Father’s Day!

I drop a comment whenever I especially enjoy a article on a website or
I have something to add to the conversation. It's a result of the fire displayed in the article I read. And on this post "Live From the Newsroom tackles men's issues in Chester". I was actually moved enough to drop a thought :-P I do have some questions for you if it's okay.
Could it be simply me or does it look as if like some
of the responses look like they are left by brain dead people?
:-P And, if you are writing on other sites, I would like
to follow you. Would you make a list the complete urls of your community pages like your twitter feed, Facebook page or linkedin profile?
