The Sandusky Trial: When do we hit bottom?

Congratulations, you’ve survived the first day of the Jerry Sandusky trial.

Anyone else feel like they need to take a shower? On second thought, given what was discussed at the trial yesterday, that may not be a great idea.

This is not going to be easy.

We have been bombarded for weeks with the salacious details of the priest child-sex abuse trial in Philadelphia.

With that one now in the hands of the jury, we now move right into the Sandusky affair.

There are many victims in this tawdry tale.

First and foremost, there are the young men who allege they were victimized by the former Penn State defensive coordinator.

Then there is the school itself. It’s hard to believe how Penn State could look any worse in all of this.

Now there are reports that school officials discussed possible problems with Sandusky as far back as 2001, but decided against alerting child welfare authorities, according to NBC News.

In court, of course, Sandusky still carries the presumption of innocence.

In the court of public opinion, he’s being painted as a “predatory pedophile” who wrote “creepy” letters to kids who he took advantage of by luring them into the world of a the great defensive coordinator of the Penn State football program.

I don’t know about you, but I’ve heard enough.

All I want is for Jerry Sandusky to go away. And never be heard from again.

Is it possible that all these kids are in collusion and decided to make the allegations against Sandusky as a way to get some money? I suppose so.

But something tells me they’re not.
