Another hit-run case in Delco

It's happened again. And once again you wonder just how someone could be so heartless.

Early on the morning of July 4, someone slammed into Tom Quercetti of Boothwyn as he walked along the side of State Road in Springfield.

Police say not only did they never stop, it appears they never even hit the breaks. We had the original story here, and posted this update with a great video clip from our friends at Fox-29.

It is not the first time this has happened in Delaware County. Still it makes you wonder just how heartless someone can be.

This may very well have been an accident, but it stretches the imagination that the driver was not aware that they had struck someone or something.

And yet they simply sped away.

Quercetti, a popular guy familiar to lots of people who frequented his family's Aston Dairy Queen where he worked, remains in critical condition at Crozer-Chester Medical Center. His family is keeping a vigil there.

Somewhere out there is a car with a damaged front end, possibly a shattered windshield. And a driver with a shattered sense of right and wrong.

For now, the friends and family of Tom Quercetti are trying to pick up the pieces of their shattered world.
