'Live From the Newsroom' dines under the stars

'Live From the Newsroom’ invades Media tonight for one of our favorite events of the summer.

We’re hoping to be out on State Street for the borough’s weekly summer tradition, “Dining Under the Stars.”

That’s when the borough’s restaurants literally shut down one of the busiest thoroughfares in the city, move their tables into the middle of the street, and serve dinner al fresco.

Of course, Mother Nature may have something to say about that. They are calling for showers. We have a plan for that, too.

Gil Spencer and I will set up shop and talk to a veritable who's who among folks in Media. We'll have a representative from Media Theatre, which is in the last two weeks of another summer tradition, the Delco Idol competition. Media Mayor Bob McMahon will talk about several key issues in the borough, along with the popularity of Dining Under the Stars. Several of the towns restaurateurs will join us, including Claudio Sandolo, who has sunk a small fortune into opening the new Spasso's in the old Media Borough Hall building.

If it's not raining, we'll be outside at State and Veterans Square, opposite the PNC Bank. If Mother Nature intercedes, we'll be in the lobby at Spasso's, down the street.

If you've ever wanted to chat with the editor of the Daily Times, or columnist Gil Spencer, this is your chance.

If you're planning to be dining al fresco, why not join us first?

If you have a question you'd like us to ask officials in Media, email me at editor@delcotimes.com. See you tonight on State Street in Media.
