'Live From the Newsroom' goes one-on-one with Chester Mayor John Linder

We have a very special guest lined up for tonight’s live-stream broadcast, ‘Live From the Newsroom.’

We’ll be joined by Chester Mayor John Linder.

These are interesting days, as usual, in the city.

While Democrats now control city government, after Linder and two Democratic council members were swept into office last November, their troubles now are not coming from Republicans.

They’re dealing with sniping from each other.

The feud seems to have splintered Chester’s government, pitting Linder against several factions on council.

Then there’s the matter of new taxes the city is mulling against entertainment venues that would seem to target Harrah’s and PPL Park. Officials from the Union, the Major League Soccer team that plays in PPL Park, have already cried foul, and put a halt to one project they were considering.

Then there is the situation with the Chester Upland School District, and the new chief recovery officer put in place by the state. John Watkins comes to the job with background strongly promoting school choice and charter schools.

We’ll question Linder about all these and more.

What I want to know is what questions YOU think we should ask the mayor.

Have something about the city you want to know? Do you have a question about safety or crime? Jobs? Education? Taxes.

Email them to me at editor@delcotimes.com and I’ll put them to the mayor.

This is an interactive show. You can log on to DelcoTimes.com and take part in our live chat

We go live at 7 p.m.
