'Live From the Newsroom' goes to finals of Delco Idol

Don't forget we are taking our live-stream Internet broadcast to Media tonight to serve as the opening act for the finals of Delco Idol.

The local talent competition is one of the best events of the summer every year. Roger Ricket, Jesse Cline and the gang at Media Theatre put together this extravaganza of talented local singers and we have been giving them a big push since they started this thing years ago.

Tonight the 15 remaining contestants will perform before they are whittled down to the final five, who will perform a final song for the finals.

We'll be live at a special time - 6 p.m. - before the finals kick off at 7. We'll be joined by Ricker and emcee, poplar Fox-29 weather anchor and Delco resident Sue Serio.

We'll also have a couple of very special performances, including Gianni Palmarini, a contestant in the Delco Idol Jr. competition who you simply have to hear to believe. It's incredulous that this booming voice comes from this young man's body. We'll also get a sneak peek at the Idol finals with a performance by Jason Armstrong, an 18-year-old from Newtown.

And as a very special added attraction, we'll be live-streaming some of the competition at 7. So if you can't get a ticket or can't make it to Media, tune in to us at 6 and Idol at 7.

Log on to DelcoTimes.com and take part in our live chat - you can even vote for who you think should be the winner of Delco Idol.

See you at 6!!!

We’re ready for our close-up, Mr. Ricker.
