Nothing's sacred

It’s official. Nothing’s sacred.

Police in Upper Darby report that a woman’s purse was filched from a pew while she went up to receive Holy Communion.

Honest.

You can read all the details here.

Now both the pastor at St. Lawrence, the Rev. James Goerner, and Upper Darby top cop Mike Chitwood are warning people that they have to be careful about their surroundings, even in places of worship.

The woman apparently used a debit card to get gas and $34 worth of fast-food at McDonald’s, although she skated without her food when she was asked to sign a receipt.

Police nearby in Marple say they are investigating a similar incident that occurred at St. Pius later on Sunday. They believe the incidents could be related.

Saints preserve us.
