Our insane desire to be 'plugged-in'

The timing, I assure you, was completely happenstance.

Last week I decided to use today’s print column to address a pet theory of mine – that we are going to wake up one day not long from now and realize we are all paying a horrific price for desire to be “connected” and “plugged-in” 24 hours a day.

Of course this comes after another “relaxing” weekend staring at my laptop, viewing email on my iPhone and furiously updating our website on my iPad after news broke early yesterday morning on the tragedy involving Andy Reid’s family. So much for an easy summer Sunday morning.

What does any of this have to do with driving across Kansas on I-70? Find out here. It's in my print column.
