'Live From the Newsroom' tackles the Eagles

We tackled all things Eagles last night on ‘Live From the Newsroom.’

From Jeff Lurie demanding that 8-8 will not be nearly good enough this year, to whether Michael Vick can say healthy, to Andy Reid being under the gun and his new friendlier demeanor, we covered it all.

If you missed the show, you can catch the replay here.

My thanks to beat writer Bob Grotz and columnist Jack McCaffery, who joined me for a very special look at the Birds. And some very special thanks to two special guests. Billy Werndl, a longtime Philly sports enthusias and host of a daily sports talk show on WCHE in West Chester, and Eagles Insider Dave Spadaro also joined the show.

Werndl provided his normal frank views, including his doubts about whether Vick is an elite quarterback. Werndl was pretty up-front about his belief that this is not a championship team.

Spadaro did not back away from any of the questions I lobbed him, admitting that Vick staying healthy is a huge question hanging over the team as they prep for the season opener Sunday in Cleveland.

Speaking of the Eagles, make sure you pick up a copy of the print edition of the Daily Times Friday for our special Eagles Preview section, including a full-color centerspread Eagles 2012 schedule.

No Delco refrigerator will be complete without one.
