It's been a a pretty good week for police in Delaware County.
First, 15 officers who lost their jobs when they got caught up in a cheating scandal on a state certification test might get a shot at getting their jobs back.
That's because the state Legislature, helped by two Delco reps, pushed through a measure that would give the state agency some leeway when it comes to the punishment meted out in these instances.
If you have trouble with that, with a police officer who is supposed to be upholding the law getting that kind of second chance after getting caught cheating, you're not the only one.
But state Reps. Joe Hackett, R-162, of Ridley, and Tom Killion, R-168, of Middletown, defend the measure. Hackett is a fomer longtime Ridley officer.
You can read all the details here.
Then there is Trevor Parham. He's the former Colwyn officer who was charged with assault after he used a stun gun on a teenager who was handcuffed in a borough holding cell.
This week Parham was acquitted of all charges after a bench trial in front of Delco Judge Kevin Kelly.
Parham feels vindicated, saying the case against him was one more part of the political turmoil that has roiled the borough for years.
Still, it's a little tough to think that you do what Parham did. Of course, he did lose his job. While Parham said he will continue his law enforcement career, he likely will have to do it somewhere other than Colwyn.
