Binders Full of Women

Forget Big Bird.

Think ‘Binders Full of Women.’

That will be the buzzword we all remember from last night’s donnybrook of a presidential debate between Barack Obama and Mitt Romney.

The town hall-style debate, with questions posed by the audience and the dynamic duo free to wander around the stage, made for great theater - and some bruising vocal altercations.

The candidates quarrelled with each other, interrupting responses and even bickering with moderator Candy Crowley over the groundrules.

I don’t know who that guy was who showed up in Denver for the first debate, but the president was back on his game last night. And Mitt Romney was not backing down an inch.

So what will we remember?

I’m betting on “Binders Full of Women,” which Romney used as he explained his push to hire women for his cabinet as governor of Massachusetts, when it seemed only men were applying.

We’ve got everything you need to know about the debate on our Elections 2012 politics page. You’ll find analysis, the key moments from the debate, and even a complete transcript from the Hofstra hoedown.

Enjoy yourself.
