The Great Pumpkin paid a visit to our offices in beautiful downtown Primos last night.
Actually, it was Lorraine Ranalli and her Cucina Chatter gang, celebrating Octoberfest with everything pumpkin.
If you missed our live-stream Internet show, ‘Live From the Newsroom,’ you can catch the replay here.
Lorraine hauled in some of her usual suspects, Chef Jacqueline Peccina Kelly, Chef Domonic Condo, blogger/author Jim Vanore, and local author and TV personality Rhonda Fink-Whitman as we celebrated fall some serious pumpkin dishes.
The chefs on the show, Chef Jacquie and Chef Dom, came up with some deliciously different varieties on some classic dishes, both utilizing pumpkin for a different taste. Chef Jacquie put a twist on your standard ravioli with a pumpkin filling; Chef Dom did likewise with lasagna. Lorraine chipped in with a classic pumpkin pie, and Dom also offered some great suggestions on pumpkin beers to wash it all down.
Yes, we ate well on ‘Live From the Newsroom’ last night.
Rhonda Fink-Whitman not only chipped in some pumpkin bread, but also gave us a sneak peek at her new book. “94 Maidens” tells of her very personal journey to the Nazi death camps in Poland. You can get it
