Hostess, the maker of those delectable delights in addition to that other American standard, Wonder Bread. has announced it is going out of business.
They've been locked in a strike with union workers. They gave the union a 5 p.m. Thursday deadline to accept more cuts. When that passed the company announced this morning they are pulling the plug. They will shut down operations, liquidate their inventory and cease operations.
American without Ding Dongs? It's another sign of the apocalypse.
