Eagles offensive line takes another big hit - and Vick likely to as well

It might be time for the Eagles to put the wagons in a circle.

Around Michael Vick.

I’m not exactly sure who is going to be manning the offensive line when the Birds line up against the hated Cowboys in a late-afternoon game Sunday at the Linc.

But I know who is not. That would include starting right tackle Todd Herremans. He became the latest victim from the battered Birds offensive line to go down when his ankle twisted Monday night in New Orleans. Yesterday the team put Herremans on the injured reserve list, ending his season. The other anchor, All-Pro left tackle Jayson Peters, has yet to play this year after suffering two Achilles injuries in the offseason. Center Jason Kelce has already gone down with torn knee ligaments. Starting right guard Danny Watkins has been out of the lineup with an ankle injury.

Vick was sacked seven times by the Saints.

What do you think is going to happen against Demarcus Ware and the ‘Boys, who also happen to be in desperation mode, sitting at an equally miserable 3-5 along with the Eagles.

Evan Mathis is the last man standing on the Eagles offensive line. He’s the only starter from the beginning of the season who is likely to go against the Cowboys.

Vick likely will again spend much of the day running for his life.

That’s no way to run an offense.

Meanwhile, Vick is dealing to put out another brush fire, his brother and his Twitter habits. Bob Grotz has that story.
