'Live From the Newsroom' reviews the Delco vote

One week after a historic vote, ‘Live From the Newsroom’ tonight will delve into the changes in Delco voting patterns.

Why is it that the vaunted Delco Republican Party seemingly can no longer deliver in the presidential race? We’ve become a county of ticket-splitters, evidence by the overwhelming re-election of U.S. Rep. Pat Meehan to another two-year term in Congress.

So why did the county turn its back on Mitt Romney, joining voters across the state in lining up behind Democrat President Barack Obama.

To help us analyze the vote, we’ll be joined by the heads of both parties in the county, Republican Chairman Andy Reilly, and Democratic top gun David Landau. Also on hand will be lead columnist Gil Spencer, and our special guest Chris Friend, who has offer his own keen take on what is going on in the suburbs and Pennsylvania.

Do you have a question for the men who run Delco’s two political parties? Why not join the conversation? Email your question to me, then tune in when we go on the air on DelcoTimes.com tonight at 7 and take part in our live chat.

I’ll put your questions to the guys in the election trenches.

Are we about to see Democrats do something once unthinkable in Delco? Stand on a level playing field with Republicans. The GOP’s once lopsided 3-1 edge in voter registration is now down to just 1,300 voters?

Can Democrats ever make a dent in that bastion of Republican power, the county courthouse? Tune in tonight to find out!
