Meehan vs. Badey: Watch it again

Pat Meehan and George Badey went mano a mano yesterday in that rarest of Delco events - a full-on political debate.

If you missed the knockdown at Neumann University, you’re in luck. We live-streamed the event and have the entire debate on our website. You can watch it here.

The Democratic challenger Badey, an attorney and head of the Radnor Democrats, continued to pound away with his attack of Republican Meehan as anything other than the moderate he claims to be, saying Meehan is a centrist when he’s here in Delco, but not when he is actually voting down in D.C. He says Meehan has aligned himself with the most conservative, right-wing element of his party. He kept jabbing at the incumbent Republican for his two votes in favor of the controversial budget plan espoused by GOP Vice Presidential hopeful Paul Ryan of Wisconsin.

Meehan parries that Badey is simply playing fast and loose with the facts.

Kudos to both men for doing what all too manyh candidates do not - meet face to face in a real debate so the voters can get a full look at the choices in front of them.

We wish it would happen more and would be more than willing to help organize them. I won’t hold my breath waiting for the incumbents to beat a path to our door.
