The Andy Reid watch is on

The whispers swirling around Andy Reid are getting louder.

Apparently, he's the only one who does not hear them.

After his team looked like it could care less in losing their sixth straight game Sunday in Washington, Reid dutifully trudged to the microphones at the NovaCare Center on Monday for his normal press conference and acted as if his empire was not crumbling.

In this case, the emperor has no clothes.

Reid vowed he would stick it out and continue to work to turn this thing around. He rejected the idea that he should step down as a “cop-out.” “That’s not the way I’m wired,” the coach said.

With the coach steadfast, it will fall on Eagles owner Jeff Lurie to make the call. Lurie is not talking.

A lot of other people are. Columnist Jack McCaffery joins the growing legion of voices calling on Reid to step down. CLICK HERE to find out why Jack believes it’s time for Reid to go, and why this should be Reid’s call.
