The next Eagles coach

Four more years? Maybe for Barack Obama.

For Andy Reid? He might be lucky to last four more weeks.

After the latest Birds’ prime time debacle against the New Orleans Saints on Monday night, the Eagles boss seems to be in denial.

Reid met the press for his day-after press conference and offered an explanation of just how close the Eagles came to beating the Saints and climbing back into the NFC East race.

Was he in the Super Dome? Did he watch the same game the rest of us did.

It no longer seems like if but rather when Eagles owner Jeff Lurie pulls the plug on the 14-year Reid Era, which now appears to be on life support.

Our sports columnist Jack McCaffery is already looking forward to the next Eagles boss and has some thoughts on the traits Jeff Lurie should be looking for in his next head coach.

You can read Jack here.

In the meantime, the equally Cowboys arrive here this weekend, with the loser likely being all but eliminated from post-season hopes.

Think maybe a loss to the ‘Boys would push Lurie to make a move? Maybe, just maybe.
