Once we get the pomp and circumstance out of the way today, President Obama will get down to the tough business of governing in his second term.
Perhaps nothing will be as controversial as the push for stricter gun control in the wake of the mass school shooting in Newtown, Conn.
To that end, we’ve decided to delve into the prickly issue of gun control on this week’s ‘Live From the Newsroom.’
We’ll be going on a special night this week, Tuesday night at 7.
I’ll be joined by my trusty columnist Gil Spencer, Lansdowne Mayor Jayne Young, who was part of a mayors’ group urging stricter gun control measures, local gun dealer Dusty Rhoads, and Dan McMonigle, a local lifetime member of the NRA.
We’ll discuss the recommendations made by Vice President Joe Biden’s panel, the moves implemented by executive order by President Obama, and those that he will need Congress to sign off on.
I want you to take part in this conversation. If you have question or comment you’d like to see the panel address, email it to me at editor@delcotimes.com. Then tune in Tuesday night at 7 at DelcoTimes.com as ‘Live From the Newsroom’ deals with maybe the most pressing issue of our times. You can take part in a live chat as well.
Gun Control. Where do you stand?
