Missing 5-year-old girl found in Delco

There is good news this morning on the little 5-year-old girl who was the target of an Amber Alert after she was taken from her West Philly school yesterday.

She’s been found safe - and right here in Uppper Darby.

Nailla Robinson was found shivering and cold - but safe - under a jungle gym on the playground near the 69th Street Terminal.

And there was my pal Mike Chitwood on TV this morning detailing how a passerby walking to work heard the little girl’s screams for help and came to her aid.

The girl was taken to Children’s Hospital in Philadelphia to be examined and reunited with her family.

In the meantime, there are lots of questions being asked about the procedures at the school that allowed this to happen.

It all started yesteday morning just before 9 a.m. when a woman claiming to be Naill’s mother signed her out of Cullen Bryant Elementary School at 60th and Cedar Avenue.

Apparently school protocols in terms of who can sign out a child were not followed.

The woman, wearing Muslim garb and using the name Tiffany. She is still being sought. School officials did not learn of the mistake until the girl’s mother came to pick her up Monday afternoon.

You can get all the details and see the video of Chitwood talking about the early-morning discovery here.
