Remember winter?
Well, brace yourself if you haven’t ventured outside yet this morning. It is, how should I say, brisk. Actually, it’s just winter, or at least the way I remember it. It was a frosty 19 degrees when I left the house this morning. Get used to it, it’s apparently going to be around all week.
That wasn’t the worst part, at least not last night. On the way home I drove through a snow squall that quickly covered the road surface. You can guess what happened next. Luckily, I made it home without any glitches.
It seems like a lot of other people weren’t nearly as fortunate.
The light dusting of snow, combined with the bone-chilling temperatures, quickly turned many roads into skating rinks. Mayhem ensued. At one point Route 202 north near Chesterbrook had to be shut down. So was the Blue Route northbound near Conshohocken.
Things seemed to have calmed down a bit this morning.

The cold temperatures aren’t going anywhere. Bundle up before you leave the office tonight. Our lows tonight will dip into the teens, or single digits on the ‘real-feel’ index, whatever that is.
The cold will remain right through Friday, when we just might see our first accumulating snow of the season.
Swell.
